In this room of silence
an orphan paints
on a canvas
of familial colors,
mountains hung
on atmospheric walls.

Outside, a playground,
stellar puddles
of unannounced river,
an indented valley
of lost warmth
when the Earth stretched
and turned in slumber.

Between these
childhoods bridged
to nowhere,
railcars filled
with ants escape unnoticed
along glassy tracks
of snow-covered cosmos,
towards jungles of equator,
never to be found.
